When-Where-Why?

A huge country in South America, Argentina is our first stop around the world.

Country: Argentina / Capital: Buenos Aires

Spanish language

Currency: Argentine Pesos

After several hours of bus from Chile, we arrive at El Calafate, starting point to visit the Perito Moreno, glacier in formation.

The town of El Calafate is very touristy but well animated so it’s nice.

The hike is really nice. It’s not so easy to walk with the crampons but you get used to it.

The landscape is breathtaking. We walk over crevasses, we see streams of unreal colors.

The guides are super nice, they speak very good english. They give a lot of information about the glacier.

Housing

We slept at Carlos’s, in his super nice house.

It is very eccentric downtown, count an hour walk but it has the merit of being quiet and it also allows to speak Spanish and learn more about Argentina.

The name of his ad is: Casa de Barro. The address is not correct so remember to locate it on a map if you go by taxi.

Budget

It’s not excessive and there is a supermarket for food.

Good Addresses

* Estancia El Tranquilo: Small restaurant of burgers in a small hidden garden. The boss is super nice and it is well served.

Address: Main street next to Hielo & Aventura

* Tito: super good ice creams.
